Sundays at Waypoint

Each week at Waypoint we desire to worship and proclaim the truth of God with excellence and creativity. We realize that attending a church for the first time can be very stressful because we have all been the new person at some point. Our goal is to alleviate those feelings before you show up.

Inside the main worship area you will notice the music, video screens and benches. All of these, as well as some other elements have been prepared so we can enter into congregational worship. We have a modern worship style with songs new and ancient, usually led from electric guitar and band. We want you to feel the freedom to engage in a way that is comfortable to you. Feel free to sit or stand and participate as much as you want.

Our message series are typically complete books of the Bible because we believe that the Bible is the story of God, His love and His plan for us. We want to see His story, and discover our place in it. We also want the Bible to be an active part of our community. Instead of picking the topics we preach on, we allow the Bible to give direction as we move through the different books.

After listening to the Scriptures proclaimed through preaching , we respond in prayer, worship and regularly sharing communion—a meal to remember that Jesus gave his life for us. Finally, we conclude our gathering by being sent out into the world to be a blessing, through faith, action, and community.

Skeptics Welcome

Our Sunday Gatherings are also a great entry point for someone who is seeking, skeptical, or simply curious. It is our sincere desire to thoughtfully explore your questions about God and Christianity with you. We are a community where it is safe to ask questions and think about difficult things. No scripts. Nothing off limits. Just honest answers to thoughtful questions. Skeptics are welcome. Seriously.

Waypoint Kids

Waypoint Kids

Your kids will enjoy learning about Jesus with friends at Waypoint Kids. We currently have ministry environments for birth through 5th grade with age-appropriate activities and learning. All of our volunteers are interviewed and background checked to provide a safe and fun environment. Kids are “checked-in” before the service, where they are registered and receive a name tag. Kids are also welcome to attend the service with their parents.

Family Sundays

The second and fifth Sundays of each month, we have Family Sundays where kids and parents worship together. These Sundays include a shorter sermon length and a community time for a time of conversation with one another and a break for the kids. We believe that intergenerational worship is crucial for the kid’s and adult’s spiritual development. We believe that anyone, no matter his or her age, who is a follower of Christ is an equal member of the church and thus should worship together. Family Sundays always include Communion as a part of Family Sundays so that all followers of Christ can partake. Childcare for infants through Kindergarten is available but not mandatory on Family Sundays.

Not Just Sundays

Waypoint Church does not exist for one hour on Sunday mornings, it exits everyday and every hour as the people of Waypoint live in faith, action, and community. Our faith drives us each day to worship, pray, and serve our God. We seek to live out our faith through action in Maricopa, Arizona, and throughout the world. And we gather more than just Sundays. Life Groups meet throughout the week to discuss life, faith, and to serve one another. Life Groups are a great place to connect to the life of Waypoint Church.
